On-Line Waitlist Registration Information

To familiarize you with the waitlist procedure and selection practice for enrollment within the Diplotots Child Care, please review the guidelines below:

The On-Line Waitlist Registration Form is used to place your child’s name onto the  Executive Child Development Center at Diplotots (SA-1 location) wait list.  This registration form is not an enrollment application and does not guarantee your child’s enrollment into a program by the date specified on the form.

Registration forms are kept in chronological order of submission.  Your child is assigned a registration date not a number.

Since there are many different factors that affect the enrollment selection process we cannot guarantee that space will become available at a specific time.

Sibling status-Families who have a child currently enrolled in Diplotots receive sibling priority.

Ages of Child-Children are offered space based on the age needed to fill the vacancy.  A 6 week old infant will not be offered space in a 2 year old classroom.  The first child on the waitlist who meets the age requirement will get the 1st offer.

When offering spots, we will only contact you if your desired enrollment date has passed or is within two months of the opening (i.e., if a spot is available for June and you are looking for July, we will contact you; however, if a spot is available in June and you are looking for October, we will not contact you).

Enrollment determinations are made by the child care center only.  Center enrollment is limited to children in the following priority order:

1.  Siblings of dependents of Department of State employees (when an existing sibling is enrolled in the Center from the same family)

2.  Siblings of dependents of employees of other Federal agencies (when an existing sibling is enrolled in the Center from the same family).

3.  Siblings of depends of Department of State Contractors (when an existing sibling is enrolled in the Center from the same family).

4.  Other siblings of children enrolled in the Center from the same family

5.  Dependents of Department of State employees

6.  Dependents of employees of other Federal agencies

7.  Dependents of Department of State Contractors

8.  Dependents of those who are neither Federal government employees nor Department of State contractors.

Parents/Guardians will only be contacted by the Center Director when a space becomes available for their child.  Parents/Guardians must notify the center within two (2) business days of their intention to either accept or decline the space for their child.

If you are no longer a Department of State employee you will receive a new priority level appropriate to your status.

There is a one (1) decline policy for the waitlist.

When parents/guardians are offered a space at the Diplotots center and decline, the child’s waitlist profile will be given a new registration date with the date of the decline.

Failure to respond to an offer within two (2) business days will be considered a decline and the child’s waitlist profile will be given a new waitlist registration with the date of the decline.

After you read these guidelines, if you are still interested in placing your child's name on the wait list, you may complete the On-line Wait List Registration Form.

Application

You may apply for the waitlist as soon as you are expecting a child.  Registration requires a “due date”.
Employees adopting a child will be assigned an application date of no more than 9 months before placement with the family.
Your desired date of enrollment should be based on your need for care.
